When away on my travels I love nothing more than to draw in my sketchbook. I am a people-watcher and the ambience of a place is very important too – dictating whether or not a drawing is made. It was the back of this lady’s dress that caught my eye, as we sat in a very busy pavement cafe/piano bar, watching the world go by. I could see the face of the man she was sitting with but I couldn’t see hers. The unknown adds to the intrigue. There was a jacket over the back of the chair in the front of me and this became part of the drawing too.
