This was a commission from a lovely lady whose dear nan had died and she wanted to me to make something special out of her nan’s baking apron. The only stipulation was that ALL the material was to be used.
This is a close up of the front of the cushion. It was wonderful to use all the material. As always I begin by de-constructing the garment and then re-constructing to create the unique bespoke keepsake.
Here is the back of the cushion. I enjoy the re-constructing of the pieces and here I have combined the darker patterned material to contrast with the paler. I like all elements to be visually pleasing but this lies second to the emotive factor.
