This is my ‘friend buddy’. I made her as an example of what a ‘friend buddy’ could look like. I explained to the children that the fabrics I chose represented good, positive or funny memories of my dear friend who died some years ago. My dear... I love this guy, he looks so chilled! He was the first food character commission I received from a very talented chef. Finding something natural for his hair was not so straight forward but eventually I found some raffia. It looks stiff and spiky just like his hair on... Hooray!! Miss Sweet Potato finally comes alive. This lady was inspired by a very talented chef’s nana, who’s hair was such a big beehive she called her Nana Whippy (after the Mr. Whippy ice-creams) Here she sits quietly taking in the scenery whilst Miss... I loved these gentleman’s spectacles in the butler’s pantry. There were many items upon the table including this shoe ‘last’ & a basket full of fine cutlery. The last box I came across today held within it the most delightful doll’s... Here are a few drawings made from the vast collection of costume at Berrington Hall, Leominster, a National Trust property. When I visit I always take my well stocked pencil case with me but as the garments are so pale & the detail so intricate and often so feint...
